Darrow currently leads Darrow Consulting – a boutique advisory focused on the transformation of businesses seeking reinvention or adaptation to rapidly changing business conditions as well as strategizing and planning market entry for evolving entertainment companies. His expertise extends to commercializing intellectual properties, strategy, monetization, deal structuring and negotiations, franchising and licensing, partnerships, marketing, and creating and curating experiential destinations.
Darrow recently served as a Board Director for Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) which was established and is funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The company is mandated to invest in, develop and operate diversified world-class entertainment facilities. Darrow authored the company’s strategy and business plan resulting in its $13 billion funding. As a member of the Board, he provided governance and advisement to the company overseeing a four-fold ecosystem of movie theaters, large-scale integrated entertainment and dining complexes, amusement and theme parks, and family entertainment centers. He also sat on the Board of Managers for the Saudi Cinema Company – a joint venture of SEVEN and AMC Theatres returning cinemas to the Saudi Kingdom after 35 years.
Previously, Darrow served as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer for the VOID where he led its meteoric growth to the top of the location-based VR industry with stellar properties including Ghostbusters, Star Wars, The Avengers and Jumanji and participated in its $50M fundraise. As Executive Vice President of KidZania, he led the company’s international expansion and global business from startup to the world leader in experiential edutainment with global life-of-deal turnover exceeding $8 billion.
Darrow led the Music & Entertainment Division for Octagon, cross-marketing entertainment properties and personalities with corporate brands such as Sesame Street, New Balance, Mastercard, Dave & Busters and Soundstage. As a Vice President of U.S. television network NBC, Darrow directed all commercialization of the network’s content for use in strategic ventures and consumer products including licensing, merchandising, video/home entertainment, music, publishing, events and gaming. And at acclaimed producer, Broadway Video, he drove strategy and content commercialization with a focus on Saturday Night Live where he also was the Producer of SNL: 25 Years of Music.
Darrow has held executive positions as an entertainment attorney, an A&R executive at MCA/Universal Records and at Overland Management where he guided the musical careers of Talking Heads, Eurythmics, B-52s and the Ramones. He began his career as a concert and personal appearances agent at ICM Partners.
